Responce to Ela book

           The book I read over the summer was called You Have Seven Messages in the book I read there was a character called Luna  who had a little brother who's name was Tile and lived with her mother because her mother died.Her mother  was a fashion-model wife of a successful film director who died when a taxi ran her through and Luna was in summer camp when this happened. Every time Luna asks her dad her dad wouldn't answer how her mom died. Her family has a hard time processing that part of their family is gone. Luna loves photography a lot when her mother dies when her mother died photography was the way to express what she was feeling because out of everyone in the family she was the one that was close to her mother the most so she was the one that had to deal with it the most. When Luna's mother died she left behind her studio and since that day no one had touched then Luna decides to go clear everything out because there is no point of having it there all alone for no reason. When she goes to her Mom's studio she finds her moms phone still connected to the charger.Luna has a crush on her neighbor who is called Oliver and would hear him everyday play the cello.When Luna reads the first message she realizes that her moms death might have been different to what everyone else was telling her.
        The details that were used to describe Luna is this book were that she is really curious, she was really curious because once she found her mom's phone she wanted to keep figuring out the truth to her mother's death.These are important details because the author is trying to tell us that Luna is not gonna stop digging deeper until she figures out what actually happened the day her mom died.Also another important detail that was used to describe the character was that in the book photography was her favorite thing to do because it was her way of connecting. This is an important detail because this shows me and the readers that for Luna photography files up the missing hole that she has because her mom died.Lastly, another detail that was used was that Luna wanted to clear her mom's studio because she felt that there was nothing important in there.This is the most important detail because Luna wanted to clear her mom's studio out because she thought she was ready to move on and forget about her mom but she was wrong when she went to the studio and found her mom's phone.
       Luna changes through out the story a lot because at first she was really curious but once she heard the first message she didn't want to finish reading the rest but she still wanted to figure out if her mom's death was on purpose or if it was an accident as everyone says.Also Luna changes in the story because she starts figuring out that not everyone is who they seem because she thought that her dad was always the nice one but as the book keeps on going she starts realizing that her dad was the bad guy that she was looking for all along.Also Luna's father start's changing throughout the story to because at first he was the one that was trying to keep the family together but as the story keeps on going and Luna keeps on asking questions that he doesn't want to answer he starts to give up and stops trying to keep his family together.Lastly Tile (Luna's brother) is the only one who doesn't change throughout the story he is always the same loving and supporting brother who tries to keep up with everyone.
          The characters in the story exchange big ideas and themes of the text  by showing and not telling. In the story when Luna is going to her mom's studio it seems like Luna is just trying to move on and forget about her mother but when she goes inside the studio you realize that she just wanted to go to her mom's studio to figure out more about her mom because she was tired of her the doubts and lies and she felt that she had to figure it out for her self because nobody was willing to tell her the truth and those who were always lied to her so she had to go see for her self and figure it out. Also Oliver also exchanges a big idea because in the book Luna's two best friends make a bet of which one of them can get Oliver first even though they knew that she had the biggest crush on him ever so showed the biggest theme that even your best friends are willing to to turn there back on you when they know the deepest things in your life.
         Luna gains self-knowledge in the story because she starts figuring out that if you want something or you want to find something else you can't rely on other people you have to do it yourself because no matter what if someone tells you something you cant be sure that they're telling the truth and you can't be sure that they're lying to you because you told some one to do what you could've done. Also Luna's father gains self-knowledge when Luna turns her back on him because he starts to realize how much he really did hurt Luna's mother because know that Luna knows the whole truth she figured out who he really is and  also he gains self-knowledge when he sees that Luna is growing up and she will know the truth someday and that it's sad that his daughter had to figure out the truth from her mom's studio and in a phone he also starts seeing that he was a bad father and that he didn't apreciate his family while she was there and starts feeling bad that he had to lie to his own daughter to make himself feel better.
