A long Walk to water by: Linda Sue Park

     In the book that I have currently finished it is about two main characters one who is named Salva and another one who is named Nya. Salva is a victim of war he loses his family on the way because this war started while he was during school and the teacher ordered the children to not go home because the soldiers was probably taking over their village. Nya is affected by the war and even though her family did not lose anybody that was important to her she was affected by the war and has no water to drink.
      In the book he is separated from his family and has to go on a journey with people from his village and even loses his uncle in the way and his uncle was respected but after the soldiers killed him he had to beg for his food. They were trying to get to a shelter so that they could try to find they're family. After a long time Salva decided to leave because they couldn't feed the people that were in the shelter . So he went to another shelter and every month they had a list about people that they were sending to America and after 3 lists he was on their and he left because he knew English. When he went their he didn't stop asking for his father.One day he received a call and they told him that his father was in a shelter. Another thing that happened is that he made a fundraiser to help out the people from his country.
      I think that Salva was doing the right thing by trying to help his country.He was also trying to help his family.He wanted to see his family but unfortunately 2 of his brothers had died. When he knew that two of his brothers had died he wanted to help their country and restore everything that they had lost.I think that Nya was very pleased when she met Salva because she knew that he was going to help her because the whole town knew that he was their to help everyone and not only his family but the other families.I think that Salva did not want other families to suffer like his family did by being seperated so he made a fundraiser so that they could have the chance that he did in America but instead where they actually grew up.I think that he was always thinking about others and never himself which is why he got so far in life and why he got adopted and then he was even helping other people because he could and he wanted to.
